Ibrahim Abu Laban

Ibrahim Abu Laban is a Palestinian musician and singer from Dheisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem. He was born in 1994 and began his musical career by learning to play the oud at an early age at the Edward Said Conservatory in Bethlehem, which formed an important part of his artistic expression and cultural identity. He studied social work and psychology at Bethlehem University, then decided to devote himself to music by studying Arabic music at Birzeit University.

He formed the “Watar” musical band in 2014 and participated in many artistic and musical projects such as the Bethlehem Life Festival, the Taybeh Festival, the Safa Cultural Nights Festival, and many local festivals, including leading musical bands such as “Voices of Palestine” and collaborating with prominent cultural institutions such as the Abdul Mohsen Qattan Foundation for Culture and Arts and the Ramallah Municipality. I seek to enhance the Palestinian cultural identity through songs and musical projects that reflect the struggle and dreams of the Palestinian people.
