Ahmed Eid

Ahmed Eid is a Palestinian musician who was born in the political exile of his parents in 1987, moved to Ramallah (occupied Palestine) at the age of eight, and to Berlin (Germany) at the age of 27. Ahmed nowadays resides in both cities.

The multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, singer-songwriter and producer is strongly influenced by widely different cultures of music. Growing up in West Asia has built his fundamentals of his Arabic music language. At an early age, Ahmed developed a strong interest in improvised grove music during his studies in the Award Said National Conservatory of Music in Palestine which led him, at the age of 18, to study Jazz music at the Cologne Conservatory of Music alongside classical music at the Lübeck Conservatory of Music as an upright bass player.

Ahmed is the bass player, guitarist, percussionist, singer-songwriter, and co-founder of the internationally renowned band Bukahara and is a vibrant personality in both the Arabic and European music scenes. Ahmed Eid has played sold-out tours worldwide and has released more than 10 albums in the past years.

Ahmed will release his first solo album in the summer of 2023 with socio-political issues from an anti-colonial and an anti-patriarchal perspective. This is presented in seven songs that are produced in an electro-acoustic essence in which Ahmed navigates between different musical genres under one authentic sound umbrella. Ahmed creates an “in-between” musical space where he brings together two realities in all of their political, social and cultural complexities to create this unique album.
