Masterclass topic: Festival and professional Market for African and Middle-Eastern music.

Both a showcase and an exchange platform dedicated to artists and professionals in the music industry in Africa, and the Middle East region, Visa For Music established itself ever since its launch as a festival and an international reference market for World Music and Modern Music, as well as a major cross-industry space for the music industry.  The last editions, which took place since November 2014 in Rabat, were a great success and brought together around 1,500 music professionals from around the world every year. A key event on the agenda of music professionals, Visa For Music attracts every year hundreds of music business personalities, as well as confirmed artists and developing artists from around the world. 

About Brahim El Mazned

As a member of the EU/UNESCO Bank of Expertise 2019-2022, and an expert on cultural policy and creative industries at the UNESCO for several years, Brahim El Mazned is also a member of the jury and artistic adviser for numerous cultural events in Morocco and across the world. Amongst the many responsibilities he takes on, El Mazned has been the artistic director of Timitar Festival since 2004; a festival mainly dedicated to Amazigh culture, which was made known throughout the world and which has become one of the major events in the world of music. Additionally, In 2014, Brahim El Mazned launched Visa For Music (VFM), the first festival/professional market dedicated to singers and musicians from Africa and the Middle East, which now takes place every year in November in Rabat (Morocco).
