Ranim Daraghmeh

“I am a Palestinian musician and researcher blending my passion for decolonization, resilience, and storytelling with the art of music production. With a background in international peace studies from Trinity College Dublin and a BA in French, International Relations, and Arabic Music from Birzeit University, my work bridges diverse disciplines to create innovative soundscapes.”

"As a classically trained pianist and contrabassist, I’ve performed with the Ramallah and Palestinian Youth Orchestras, and have participated in numerous music festivals. In 2024, I was awarded the SAWA SAWA Artist Residency, where I focused on community-driven music education taking place at the Palestine Music Space. Now I aim to work towards developing a film or animation score that fuses contemporary classical and electronic music, drawing the concept from the Palestinian Culture and Identity, inspired by the works of Roger Waters, Trent Reznor, Max Richter, and Jóhann Jóhannsson. My vision is to craft music that amplifies visual storytelling, blending emotional and cultural depth with cutting-edge techniques.”
